Anyways we got this handout in English today and i thought it was great and something that everyone should read (especially Joshua!!!):
Among teens in our day there is an ever growing epidemic that many people dont seem to be aware of, or are aware of but do nothing about it. possible reasons are that it has become so common in society that people now days arent aware that its even there. if gone unchecked, it could very well change the behavior, mentality, and attitude of youth around the nation. shouldnt we be more concerned about a condition so serious that studies have linked it to:
- Addictive Behavior
- Impaired Driving
- Social Ineptness
- Inability to focus
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Impaired or strained vision
- Learning impairments
- A possible contributor to cancer
By what you've read, what are some possible causes of such an epidemic?

my initial guesses were alcohol or drugs, pretty common answers. the real answer is texting!! crazy huh? i know im guilty of it. i believe texting is a good thing as long as it doesnt get out of hand. we still need to be able to communicate with others with our mouths and with words. Texting while youre visiting with other people is very rude and disrespectful. I hope my sermon does some good haha!!! take care guys
I never would have guessed "texting". I was also thinking alcohol and drugs. That was an interesting little bleep that you posted. I agree that the youth of these days are out of control with the texting. I was at a young women's meeting tonight and we were discussing how we are going to tackle to cell phone/texting thing during church and mutual. If you can believe this, the YM/YW are texting both in church, sunday school class and during mutual. Anyways, I am still curious why this article says that it could also cause cancer. I wonder how? Good job on posting on this family blog pimp!!! I think we all go through our phases of posting and I am glad that you are in a phase. Mom, you need to post pics of your visit here. What do you think of that plan?
